Dia Mundial da Música com o Gamelão de Porcelana e Cristal
A Companhia de Música Teatral assinala o Dia Mundial da Música com um concerto para Gamelão de Porcelana e Cristal que resultará dum projecto criativo de um dia com famílias e jovens músicos. Terá lugar no próximo dia 1 de Outubro no Museu de Aveiro, e marcará também início da 10ª Bienal Internacional de Cerâmica Artística. O Gamelão de Porcelana e Cristal inspira-se no milenar gamelão javanês e explora as fronteiras entre música, "sound-art" e escultura. É um “instrumento musical colectivo” constituído por centenas de peças de porcelana, faiança, grês, vidro e cristal cuja combinação de sonoridades permite criar música de forma exploratória e criativa. Uma primeira versão desta ideia foi desenvolvida no âmbito do projecto Opus Tutti apoiado pela Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. Esta escultura musical estará disponível para utilização pelo público até meados de Novembro, sendo igualmente assegurados workshops para famílias, escolas e público em geral. O Gamelão de Porcelana e Cristal é um projecto de investigação artística realizado em parceria pela Companhia de Música Teatral, a Universidade de Aveiro e a Vista Alegre Atlantis.
International Music Day with the Gamelan of Porcelain and Crystal-ware
Companhia de Música Teatral will celebrate the International Music Day with a concert for the Gamelan of Porcelain and Crystal-ware which will result from a one-day creative project with families and young musicians. It will take place on the 1st of October at the Museu de Aveiro opening the 10th International Bienal of Artistic Ceramics. The Gamelan of Porcelain and Crystal-ware is inspired by the traditional javanese gamelan and explores the boundaries between music, sound art and sculpture. This "colective musical instrument" is made up of hundreds of pieces of several types of ceramics, glass and lead crystal whose combinations allow interesting musical results and enable creative journeys in music making without the need for formal training. A first version of this concept has been developed within the project Opus Tutti with the support of the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. Until mid November, the musical sculpture will be  available for public use in workshops oriented by musicians. The Gamelan of Porcelain and Crystal-ware is an artistic research project partnership involving Companhia de Música Teatral, the University of Aveiro and Vista Alegre Atlantis.
