No próximo ano irá frutificar.

Over the last three years, Opus Tutti germinated, put down roots and started growing. Next year it will starting bearing fruit. We want to share the fruit, help more branches to grow and ensure that the roots become ever stronger.

Logo a seguir acontece o III Encontro Internacional Arte Para a Infãncia e Desenvolvimento Social e Humano na Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.

Here is an opportunity to create together with others from various countries and share ideas and experiences. Next up is the III International Meeting of Art for Childhood and Social and Human Development at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Still in November, an opportunity to see and play the ADP constellation: the Anatomy of the Piano show will feature in the Autumn Festivals and the Pianoscópio workshop/musical experience appears as part of the Science and Technology Open Week, both within the Department of Communication and Art at the University of Aveiro.

October was a month filled with music. And a lot more. Here are some excerpts from the travel log of AliBaBach in Brazil: “Another happy day. This is complete, fulfilling happiness, full of sound and love. In the morning Pedro and Joana held a workshop, full of lively elan, closing with a perfectly harmonized silence (…) The creativity, the openness of the heart, the sensibility, the availability, the generosity, the sweetness of the people present, was something extremely touching. Transformational. This diamond has to be held tight and allowed to shine in other more arid lands. In the afternoon we went to Canto das Águas, with the Mingú river snaking through it. Incomparably beautiful. And there we had the best concert ever: the mating call of the bull-frog ringing in our ears like rattles, soprano cicadas singing in tune, vultures flying before our eyes, a small animal – of which I do not know the name – with its well measured infra-sound and ultra-sound, a precise ostinato of insects and birds together, waterfalls always rushing in our ears, real music ensuring the impasse of language. And great people, good people, of the sort that you can learn from just by being together in the silence.” There was still time for Patrulha (Patrol) in Oeiras, AliBaBach in Pombal, RESEO in Brussels and, not forgetting, the fantastic début of Pianoscópio at BIG BANG, in the Cultural Centre of Belém (CCB) in Lisbon, under the watchful eye of the sketch of the portrait of Fernando Pessoa, that at times seemed like it wanted to speak. He would surely talk of the scintillating sounds.

É a minha energia interior que me obriga a escrever música.

My work will not break with the past or confront it... It only tries to communicate something very personal that may not even be communicable. It is my interior energy that compels me to write music. And even being aware of all my imperfections and hesitations as a human being, I try to create something that may have a little glimpse of beauty.

João Pedro Oliveira,
has just released a new album (Mosaic)
. His work inspires us.
We are driven by the same quest for the trace of light.
Thank you, João Pedro

Aqui fica um “postal” sonorizado do Pianoscópio no CCB.

Here is an audible “postcard” from Pianoscópio at the CCB. An invitation for you to take part next time.

Registration for the III International Meeting of Art for Childhood and Social and Human Development closed very soon due to the number of applications but we are already working on other opportunities for us to continue to deepen the sharing of ideas that we have come to develop over the course of the Opus Tutti project. It will be a full day where we are looking to cross “tribes” that normally inhabit separate worlds: we want researchers to get interested in experiments that are carried out in the field; we want those that work with children on a daily basis to be able to have time to reflect on those subjects which would not normally be accessible to them; we want to showcase different ways of training; we want to show how Music can create pools of light and significant moments in everyday life.
