Em Outubro, mês de Música, mostraremos algumas das ideas que nos levaram a criar os PaPIs: a formação Variações sobre Peça a Peça terá lugar no Cine-Teatro Alba, Albergaria-a-Velha. Partilharemos as nossa ideias sobre formação imersiva, com ênfase em Jardim Interior, na Conferência da RESEO em Como, Itália. Mais tarde revelaremos que, mais do que um instrumento, o piano é um lugar, um ser com vida, uma escultura, um palco, a casa onde a música habita e de onde brotam histórias sem palavras, feitas de sons, de imagens e de corpo. Anatomia do Piano será apresentada no Festival de Teatro de Montemor-o-Novo e também no Festival BIG BANG no CCB em Lisboa. No Seminário BIG BANG discutiremos ainda assuntos relacionados com a criação artística para o público mais jovem. O mês terminará com o passeio de um dos PaPIs- Opus 7- no concelho de Vila Nova de Famalicão pela mão da Casa das Artes.

In October, the month of Music, we will show some of the ideas that led us to create the PaPIs: Variações sobre Peça a Peça will be held at Cine-Teatro Alba, Albergaria-a-Velha. We will share our ideas about immersive training, focusing in Jardim Interior (Inner Garden), at the RESEO Conference in Como, Italy. Later, we will reveal that the piano is more than an instrument. It is a place, a being with life, a sculpture, a stage, a house where music lives, boasting stories without words made of sounds, images and body. Anatomy of the Piano will be performed at the Festival de Teatro de Montemor-o-Novo and also at the BIG BANG Festival, at CCB in Lisbon. At the BIG BANG Seminar we will also discuss issues concerning artistic creation for young audiences. The month closes with a stroll of Opus 7 in Vila Nova de Famalicão guided by the hand of Casa das Artes.

Setembro foi mês de Babelim- um espectáculo concebido no âmbito do projecto Opus Tutti que teve o financiamento da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. Ao mesmo tempo que era nomeado para os YAMA-Awards na categoria de Ópera, Babelim viajava pela Dinamarca: estivemos em Ikast e Randers, apresentámos o espectáculo, fizemos workshops, apresentámos conferências para educadores e artistas e, sobretudo, fomos muito felizes. Obrigado aos nossos amigos da Dinamarca e aos novos pequenos e grandes amigos que fizemos. Setembro foi também tempo de preparar o BIG BANG e por isso fizemos uma acção de formação sobre a Anatomia do Piano no CCB.

September was a month of Babelim- a show created within the scope of Opus Tutti, a project funded by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. While it was nominated for the YAMA-Awards in the Opera category, Babelim was traveling in Danmark: we were in Ikast and Randers, we performed the show, we did workshops and conferences for educators and artists and, above all, we were very happy. Many thanks to our friends in Danmark and also to the new little and big ones. Septmeber was also time to prepare for the BIG BANG and therefore we did a training session about Anatomy of the Piano at CCB.

As crianças de hoje são os adultos de amanhã e é fundamental que elas tenham experiências que lhes alarguem os horizontes. Sobretudo numa época em que a economia parece levar a uma arregimentação global feita à custa das relações e valores humanos. As crianças devem ter experiências que façam titilar os seus sentidos e curiosidade e elas precisam de ver que há muitas e diferentes formas de fazer as coisas para além da versão que já conhecem. Há muitas formas de aprender, de se expressarem e de viver. No trabalho criativo que eu faço com crianças, através de ferramentas imaginativas e métodos de aprendizagem do teatro, elas acabam por descobrir algo nelas próprias que não sabiam que estava lá. Sentem coisas que não tinham ainda sido cultivadas mas encontram nisso uma alegria e um desejo de explorar mais fundo. Isso dá-me esperança nos adultos do futuro e no futuro do nosso mundo. Today's children are the adults of tomorrow, and it is of utmost importance that they have experiences that broaden their horizon. Not at least in a time when trade and economy points towards a growing global regimentation at the expense of human relations and values. The children must have experiences that titillate their senses and their curiosity, and they must see that there are many more and different ways of doing things than the version they already know. There are many ways to learn, to express themselves and to live. In the creative work I experience that children, through the imaginative tools and learning methods of the theater, suddenly find something in themselves they did not know was there. They feel something that has not previously been cultivated, but they find joy in it and wish to explore it deeper. O V Encontro International Arte para a Infância e Desenvolvimento Social e Humano acontecerá em 14 de Novembro, na Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. The V International Colloquim Arts for Childhood and Social and Human Development will take place on 14th November, at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. This Colloquium is an initiative of the GermInArte Project and it will have as theme the professional training for early childhood and its relationships with artistic practices. More information here.
