Uma nova constelação, ZYG, começou a vibrar. Sons, objectos e movimento pulsando num só colo onde o tempo e espaço habitam os corpos. Depois do caminho veio o espanto. A sensação de estarmos todos em profunda relação. Estamos sempre a aprender. Sempre à procura do que os bebés nos ensinam: a escutar com o corpo todo, a olhar os sons, a tocar as formas.

A new constellation, ZYG, is vibrating. Sounds, objects and movement pulsing in one lap where time and space inhabit the bodies. After the journey, the amazement followed. The sensation of all of us being in a state of profound relationship. We are always learning. Always looking for what babies teach us: listening with the whole body, looking into the sounds, touching the shapes.

Em Março continuaremos a ouvir as reverberações da Constelação ZYG: haverá apresentações de ZYG (para creches e jardins de infância, durante a semana, para famílias, ao fim de semana) e continuarão também as Variações sobre ZYG, uma série de acções de formação em forma de reflexão-vivida sobre a importância das experiências artísticas na primeira infância construída a partir do universo de ZYG. Nascemos musicais, com a capacidade de fazer e de apreciar o som e o movimento e é essencial que, nas primeiras idades, as crianças construam um “vocabulário emotivo/estético” feito de experiências ricas, profundas e diversificadas. É isso que estaremos também a fazer no Cine-Teatro Alba em Albergaria, mais tarde e noutra “língua”, Babelim. Entretanto, GerminArte, o projecto apoiado pela Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian no âmbito da primeira infância, prepara as próximas acções de formação. Formação?! Não! Transformação, queríamos dizer.

In March we will carry on listening to the reverberations of the ZYG Constellation: there will be performances (for kindergartens and creches during the week, for families on weekends) and also further sessions of Variations on ZYG, a series of training workshops with the form of “living reflection” about the importance of artistic experiences in early childhood developed from the universe of ZYG. We are born musical, with the capability of making and enjoying sound and movement and it is essential that children develop an “emotional/aesthetic vocabulary” since the early stages of their lives, made of rich, profound and diversified experiences. That is also what we will be doing at Cine-Teatro Alba in Albergaria, later and in another “language”, Babelim. In the meantime, GermInArte - a project supported by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian - is preparing the next steps on training concerning early childhood. Training?! No! Transformation would be the appropriate word!

Fevereiro foi um mês marcado pela residência criativa e estreia de ZYG. Ao longo de várias semanas, ZYG incubou no “ninho” que o acolheu quando ainda era uma ideia, a Fábrica das Artes do Centro Cultural de Belém. A construção de ZYG foi partilhada com alguns pais e bebés que conhecem o nosso trabalho e a 19 de Fevereiro estreou perante crianças do jardim de infância da Cooperativa Torre. Desde então tem havido apresentações para creches / jardins-escola e famílias. A marcar a estreia houve também a Performance-conferência ZYG, um formato que incluiu um primeiro contacto pelos sentidos (no espaço, com os dois “interactores” a estabelecerem um “diálogo" dos corpos com o som e o espaço) e, em seguida, um debate aberto com o público (educadores, artistas, programadores).

February was strongly shaped by ZYG´s creative residence and première. During several weeks ZYG incubated at the “nest” that welcomed it when it was still and idea, Fábrica das Artes. ZYG´s development had some moments of sharing with babies and parents that follow our work and it was premiered on February 19th with children from the kindergarten Cooperativa Torre. Since then there were performances for creches/kindergartens and families. A Performance-conference highlighted the premiere, with a first contact with work via the senses (in a format that involved the two “interactors” in a “dialogue” between the bodies and the sound and space), followed by and open discussion with the audience (educators, artists, programmers).

Quer esteja a trabalhar com outros músicos, quer esteja rodeado por máquinas e cabos, interesso-me sobretudo pelos ondulados caminhos da empatia, da ressonância. Porque há um passo além do de nos colocarmos no lugar do outro: o de ouvirmos pelos seus ouvidos ou de sentirmos através da sua pele, e não conheço melhor veículo do que a Arte para nos levar até lá. A partilha de um entusiasmo febril pela concretização do inútil é sempre uma boa forma de renovar a esperança na Humanidade. Whether I am working with other musicians or surrounded by machines and cables, I am mainly interested in the wavy paths of empathy and resonance. Because there is a step beyond putting ourselves in another's place: to listen through their ears or feel through their skin, and I do not know a better vehicle than Art to take us there. Sharing a feverish enthusiasm for the implementation of the useless is always a good way of restoring hope in humanity. ZYG é uma experiência artística num espaço imersivo onde a música e a dança se cruzam para explorar as fronteiras entre a comunicação, o jogo informal, a descoberta dos sentidos e o instinto da arte. Especialmente pensada para crianças dos 0 aos 36 meses, num formato íntimo, original e inovador, ZYG resulta duma parceria entre a Companhia de Música Teatral, a Fábrica das Artes e a companhia de dança contemporânea norueguesa Dybwikdans, com o apoio do programa Pegada Cultural | Primeiros Passos numa iniciativa conjunta da Direcção Geral das Artes e do Conselho das Artes da Noruega, co-financiada pelas EEA Grants.

ZYG is an artistic experience in an immersive space where music and dance intersect to explore the boundaries between communication, informal playing, the discovery of the senses and the art instinct. It was specially designed for children aged 0 to 36 months in an intimate, unique and innovative format, and results from a partnership between Companhia de Música Teatral, Fábrica das Artes and the Norwegian contemporary dance company Dybwikdans, with the support of the “Cultural Footprint | Early Steps”. This programme is managed by the General Directorate of Arts (DGArtes) in partnership with the Arts Council of Norway and co-financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area – EEA Grants.
