Companhia de Música Teatral was invited to present work developed during the pandemic at a webinar organized by Bangkok International Children’s Theater. This edition of BICT Fest was predominantly online due to the constraints of the pandemic.
The panel CMT took part in was called “Playing on Empty: Creating New Work in the Time of Crisis”. We showed participants around the world the work that CMT has been developing since March’s confinement, particularly the process that started with Poemário, continued with Poemário Vivo, and bore fruit in the form of ZygZag&Zoom and in the show O Céu Por Cima de Cá.
Our contribution focused on the creative alternatives we sought when confinement took effect in order to continue active creative production. We also explored the importance of communication in a time of great isolation, and how to find alternative ways to make communication possible.
At the end, we invited anyone interested to watch Céu Por Cima de Cá, and some participants responded to the invite and attended the shows on Zoom on 19 and 20 September.
There are recordings of all webinar panel discussions on the BICT Fest Facebook page.
