As part of European Green Capital 2020, Companhia de Música Teatral and Lisbon city council are taking the Mil Pássaros project into the community. Building on initial Mil Pássaros training, representatives (teachers and facilitators) will follow different work processes that will culminate in a Collective Installation in which the participation of each child is represented by an orizuro (a bird-shaped origami figure) they have made. The project aims to bring the whole community together around a common goal and has two main strands: one involving all public schools in the municipality and the other facilitated by public spaces (museums and libraries).
After a vibrant start, the constraints of Covid-19 caused some of the Mil Pássaros activities to be suspended. We are already planning to resume work on the project, with adaptations for the current situation. You can follow the project here.
