From May 21 to 30, the Gama Lobo Palace in Loulé was home to the new creation by the Companhia de Música Teatral. Over the course of 10 days, through songs, texts, and stories, four Marias came together in that space to craft their Manifesto—an intimate and political manifesto that seeks to raise questions about women in the contemporary world.

Following the initial steps taken in January during the first artistic residency at the Casa das Artes in Famalicão, this second residency provided a space to delve deeper into ideas and make way for the new: new images, new questions, new paths. Between the intimacy of the gathering and the political dimension of the questions raised, M de Manifesto is taking shape, not as a definitive answer, but as a space open to doubt, empathy, and the encounter between different voices and perspectives.

The next residency will take place in July in Montemor-o-Novo and will continue this collective process.

M de Manifesto premieres in September at the Casa das Artes de Famalicão with Maria Inês Silva, Maria João Vieira Leite, Mariana Pinto, and Mariana Vences.
