The creative residency at the Narciso Ferreira Theatre in Riba d’Ave followed another in Aveiro, which allowed us to delve into specifically musical issues, back in June. The end of this experience coincided with participation in another project, Shores, which emanated from DeCA-UA and took us back to Fábrica Centro de Ciência Viva. Although they are different projects (Shores and CSI), the fact is that there are many links. And Fábrica is a place that inspires us. So it was with a few additional ideas that we started work in Riba d’Ave in July. It was an intense week, culminating in the Preúdio Para Uma Cartografia Sonora Imaginária, a mediation action in the form of an open conversation with the public. There was room to show some of the ‘imaginary places’ we’ve already discovered and to talk about others we know are waiting for us to visit. Afterwards, we met Alberto Manguel again in Lisbon. He had told us before that ‘imaginary cartography is endless’, but it was great to be able to share some of the ones we had imagined from the music that emanates from his voice.
