From silence to the freedom to create
The Berço de Melodias Festival – First Music Festival for Early Childhood was the stage for CMT’s trainings, shows, installations and workshops.
For 6 days, at Quinta dos Cónegos, in Maia, we shared ideas, songs, smiles, drumsticks, gamelons and much more with the public who visited us. We also marked the end of the Berço de Melodias Festival with a joint reflection with the festival organizers and CMT.
In the morning workshops, we played with silences, CMT songs and rhythmic chants, unconventional instruments, creativity, sharing and a lot of listening.

In PaPI-Opus 7 there was interaction with the children, a garden where flowers make sounds and lots of attentive looks.

In the Fruit Inventory, we invited all the children and caregivers to exercise their freedom to create sound.

PaPI-Opus 8 awakened the children to the sound of birds and the music that can be heard through the clouds.

The Porcelain and Crystal Gamelan was color, bowls, sound, drumsticks and the smiles that come from the freedom to choose the sound of each piece.

PaPI-Opus 10 was the culmination of the week of freedom we experienced at Quinta dos Cónegos. We celebrated the audacity to say no and to sing when asked to remain silent.
