Since its foundation, 25 years ago, Companhia de Música Teatral has sought to bring quality artistic experiences to a wide variety of audiences.

Over time, we have been looking for solutions to mitigate the traditional restrictions that affect the freedom of movement of our works and we have found new ways to alleviate technical, human, financial difficulties or even the social distancing caused by the pandemic.

The Mil Pássaros (One Thousand Birds) project is a picture of our work philosophy and is emblematic of our desire to include and reach everyone. It was within this framework, during the pandemic and naturally emerging from the need to continue providing quality artistic experiences, that we created the online show PaPI – Opus 8.z. This show has since continued its journey through a variety of contexts including, in 2022 and on an experimental basis, institutions and children in special conditions of sheltering or isolation.

Following the positive impact of these experiences, Companhia de Música Teatral committed on its plan and budget for 2023-26 (with the support of DGARTES | Ministry of Culture) a social responsibility action that aims to freely provide quality artistic experiences to worthy entities: Mil Pássaros em Liberdade (One Thousand Birds at Liberty).

It is in this context that in 2023 and with the support of Casa Das Artes de Famalicão | Teatro Narciso Ferreira we propose to take PaPI – Opus 8.z free of charge to a group of institutions for which we have special appreciation.
